Do you want to look younger, restore freshness and beauty to your skin? A new technique – photorejuvenation – will help you achieve such results.
IPL photorejuvenation is an effective and safe procedure that makes it possible to restore skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles and eliminate other imperfections, including age spots, spider veins, and post-acne.
In ERA ESTHETIC AVENUE, the Nordlys device from the American company Candela is used for the photorejuvenation procedure.
Laser beams affect cells with a high content of melanin. These cells absorb energy, heat up and collapse. Over the course of a few days, the spots are intensively exfoliated and eventually disappear completely, leaving clear, beautiful skin.
The Nordlys device includes more than 20 programs specially developed by American scientists. This allows for selecting protocols and therapy precisely to address each client’s issues individually.
The advantage of the Nordlys system is its powerful submillisecond pulses and narrowband SWT technology. They make it possible to treat any formations in the skin at different depths without damaging the epidermis.

Procedure protocol
The photorejuvenation procedure is carried out in 4 stages:
1. The specialist applies a gel to the areas to be exposed to radiation, which protects the skin and soft tissues from overheating.
2. The patient puts on special tinted glasses to protect the eyes from the bright light generated by the device.
3. The cosmetologist treats the problem areas with pulsed light.
4. At the end of the procedure, the specialist applies a special cream to the skin, which facilitates rapid healing and restoration of the skin.
The duration of the session is no more than half an hour, on average 5-10 minutes.
Preparation for the procedure
Before starting a course of sessions, you need to prepare for it:
- 2 weeks before the course, you should not sunbathe in the sun, visit a tanning salon, or use self-tanning products;
- For a month, you need to use sunscreen with SPF every time you go outside;
- A week before the procedure, you need to stop taking antibiotics, retinoids, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and drugs that affect blood clotting.
The cosmetologist can give additional recommendations on preparing for the procedure.
Post-procedure care
Although long-term recovery period is not required after photorejuvenation, there are still certain restrictions. It is recommended to follow a number of post-procedure care rules:
- Do not sunbathe for 2 weeks after the procedure;
- Use sunscreens with at least 50+ degree of protection;
- Do not visit the sauna or bathhouse in the first days after the procedure;
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages in the first 3-5 days after the procedure;
- It is not recommended to use decorative cosmetics for the first 4 days after the procedure;
- Peels and scrubs cannot be used.
Effects of the procedure
- The complexion becomes more even;
- Dilated vessels disappear;
- Pigment spots lighten or disappear;
- Acne disappears;
- The amount of inflammation and oiliness of the skin decreases;
- The skin is tightened and thickened.
Advantages of the procedure at the ERA ESTHETIC AVENUE centrum
1. Impact of the device: Nordlys Candela is the development of several companies in the USA and Europe. 5-in-1 technology makes it possible to use individual settings, treat hard-to-reach areas and solve several skin problems at once in one procedure (rosacea, couperosis, pigmentation, acne, post-acne, etc.)
2. Only Candela Nordlys features unique narrowband IPL technology with a patented dual filtration system and ultra-short sub-millisecond pulses for exceptional photorejuvenation and vascular removal.
The ERA ESTHETIC AVENUE centrum offers clients to undergo a photorejuvenation procedure with a significant visible result. With us you can be sure of:
- Highly-qualified doctors. They have mastered modern hardware methods of non-invasive effects on the skin, and have many years of practical experience;
- Individual approach. Treatment parameters are selected strictly individually for each patient;
- Guaranteed security. The rejuvenation techniques used do not pose a threat to the body and do not involve mechanical impact. In our center, hygiene principles are strictly observed, surfaces, tools and equipment are treated with antiseptic.
The procedure is extremely comfortable, even for sensitive patients, thanks to the fact that the epidermis is not damaged.
Already 1-2 weeks after the procedure, the face looks fresher and smoother. The procedure activates the synthesis of collagen and elastin, so the rejuvenating effect builds up within 6 months. Every day the skin becomes more smooth and tightened.
A big plus of Candela Nordlys photorejuvenation: the patient does not have to give up his / her usual schedule. Redness of the skin goes away within a few hours. A light blush and small crusts at the site of age spots can last for several days.
The first results of photorejuvenation are noticeable within a few hours after the session – the skin will look fresher and more vibrant. To obtain a lasting effect, you must undergo a course of several sessions. As a rule, the optimal quantity is 5–7 sessions, with 3–4 weeks’ break between them.
After this, it is recommended to conduct an annual maintenance course of photorejuvenation. If there are pigment spots on your skin, then immediately after the procedure they may acquire a darker, more vivid color. This indicates that the correct impact was applied to the area of pigmentation. After some time, the pigment spots will begin to lighten and become less noticeable.
Alcoholic drinks are prohibited 3-4 days before the procedure and 4-5 days after it. Ethyl alcohol promotes dehydration of the body. Due to moisture deficiency, cells become overdried and partially destroyed.
In addition, due to dehydration, the degree of damaging exposure to light waves rises significantly, which increases the likelihood of post-procedural complications. Also, consuming even very small doses of alcohol can negatively impact the effectiveness of the treatment.
A course of procedures will give you smooth skin without spider veins, pigmentation and wrinkles. This effect will be noticeable for 6 months up to 4 years. The exact period depends on the condition of your skin, compliance with doctor’s recommendations, and home skincare routine.
IPL rejuvenation technology matches well with mesotherapy and peeling, but botulinum therapy is best conducted 2 weeks after photorejuvenation. However, it is still better to consult your doctor first.
Immediately after phototherapy, it is not recommended to expose the treated area to ultraviolet radiation for 14 days. Therefore, if you plan to go on vacation in the next 2 weeks after the procedure, it is better to postpone phototherapy.
Photorejuvenation is a procedure designed not only to rejuvenate the skin, but also to solve other cosmetic issues, such as age spots, problems with blood vessels, post-acne, enlarged pores. Therefore, the procedure can be performed from 18 years of age.
- The first days after completion of the procedure, swelling, hyperemia, and peeling of the skin may be observed. Clinical manifestations disappear on their own and no special treatment is required. If symptoms do not disappear within 5 days, you need to consult a cosmetologist;
- Be sure to use skin care products. The cosmetologist offers the client a list of creams. Important conditions for choosing skin care cosmetics are the absence of alcohol in them and the possibility of tissue repair. Avoid dry skin;
- A few days after the procedure, crusts appear on the skin. It is forbidden to remove them by yourself. However, you can apply moisturizing creams. Cosmetics soften the crusts and increase the rate of their peeling;
- Maintaining adequate water balance. Cell dehydration is not allowed. A person should drink at least one and a half liters of pure drinking water per day;
- Proper nutrition. The diet should be well-balanced and rich in vitamins, micro- and macroelements. This will significantly speed up the recovery of the skin;
- Be sure to use sunscreen. The higher the level of protection against ultraviolet radiation, the better it is for the skin.
Photorejuvenation is part of a program to restore skin quality. The procedure is often combined with biorevitalization, mesotherapy, peelings, and plasma therapy.
Photorejuvenation does not directly affect the rate of filler resorption, just like Botox.
It is recommended to wash your face with cool water. You can use your usual products, but for the first 5 days it is strictly forbidden to rub the skin or use scrubs at the site of exposure. For the first 2-3 days, you can apply a soothing cream or panthenol to the skin in the morning and evening.
Alcoholic drinks actively destroy cell membranes and dry out the skin, which has already suffered serious stress.
